Buildings need a different approach
Buildings account for 40% of EU energy consumption, according to the European Commission, and the rules for how they run are getting stricter, from the EPBD to building automation requirements (BACS). Yet the data on how a building actually runs is spread over separate systems and suppliers, so ventilation problems are often found late.
A sensor shows a number. Nomestic goes further.
The ClimateIQ platform analyzes room-level data and finds ventilation and maintenance issues. Automatic control then adjusts ventilation on the existing system, and operators can override it at any time. Savings are checked by comparing measured data from before and after a change.
Healthier rooms and lower energy use
Buildings are where we work, learn and exercise, and they are among the biggest energy users in Europe. Better control of ventilation helps on both sides: healthier rooms for the people inside and lower energy use for the owner.
Our story
Who we are & what we do
Nomestic was founded in 2023 by Mayank Shah. It began with his own workdays: hard to focus, frequent headaches, an uncomfortable room, and colleagues who felt the same. Out of curiosity he started researching the problem, which led him to CO2 and indoor air pollution, and to how they affect not only work, productivity and health, but how much the ventilation system matters. His findings turned the curiosity into a company: Nomestic began with simple CO2 monitors and has sold more than 2,000 of them to date.
Monitoring alone was not enough, so Nomestic built a platform that turns room-level data into automatic control. It finds ventilation and maintenance issues, adjusts ventilation on the existing HVAC, cuts ventilation energy use and CO2 emissions, and shows the savings per m². It works with or without a building management system.
